2018

After an amazing Christmas spent with family, friends, good food and celebrations, I feel like I’ve blinked and the end of December is upon us.

It’s crazy to think that 2017 has already come to an end. I feel like each years just goes by quicker and quicker. It really makes you realise just how important time is and to spend each day doing things that make you happy.

On a positive, 2018 here we come! I always love the start of a new year, it’s a great time to reflect on the year, every memory you have made and all of the things that you have achieved. Not only that, it’s a great time to set some new goals/aims for the year ahead. It’s a brand new year for you to do new things, take risks and smash your goals and ambitions. If you’re interested in my 2017 reflections, check out my previous blog post, but for now let’s focus on the year ahead!
Whilst I’m not one for ‘new year, new me’ goals, I like to set my self little goals to work towards throughout the year. I’m a self confessed list writer, and this is probably the one list that motivates me more than any, to become a better version of my self and live the life I really want to live.

·         Travel-
If you’ve been reading my blog for a while, you’ll know that I have a one-way ticket to Australia booked for the beginning of Feb. I plan to travel and work my way around Australia. This is 100% the biggest and bravest decision I have ever made and will be a huge adventure. I want to take in and value every part of my travels, from the places I see to the people I meet, overcoming any challenges along the way and using them to become even more confident and independent.
I want to say yes to different adventures and plans whilst I’m out there and not hesitate in getting out of my comfort zone, after all, that’s when the best things happen!! This trip Is something I’ve dreamed about for as long as I can remember, I plan to truly make the most of every second. I’m not going in to it with rose tinted glasses (unless I find a pair in the sales!), I know that parts of it will be difficult- leaving my life here and getting on that plane will be the first huge challenge- but it’s one that is worth overcoming. I also aim to blog my travels as much as I can for those that are thinking of taking the leap and travelling, but also for my self as something to look back on and share with those around me.

·         Self-Development-
Any regular readers will know I’ve been on the self-development band wagon for quite some time and it will always appear within any goals I set, as it’s already done wonders for my mindset and general lifestyle. In 2018 I want to continue learning more about personal development and practising what I preach when it comes to self care. I aim to continue working on living a balanced life, something that has been extremely difficult for me to achieve in the past. To me this is creating balance in all elements of my life and prioritising both my wellbeing and happiness. Some examples of how I want to achieve this include;

-          Having time for my self to relax and recharge without feeling lazy.
-          Saying no to things I don’t want to do instead of always trying to please people.
-          Ensuring that I make the time to see the people I care about and do the things I want to do.
-          Exercise & Eat well to care for my body and because it’s what makes me feel at my best, although still incorporate plenty of rest days, cakes and other delicious foods that are extremely good for your soul!!

·         General Goals-
I have a list of other things I want to do and experience in 2018 (as expected the majority of these are Australia themed so if you’re interested continue reading….

Here’s to 2018, I wish every one a happy and healthy year, if you’ve not already set yourself some goals or thought about what you’d like to achieve, there’s still time! Lets’ get excited for the year ahead!!
